Summer Break

Over the summer I worked at a law firm in Scranton, Pennsylvania. I live 2 hours away from there so I ended up living with my great grandmother who is 95 years old. It was a really good time and I really enjoyed getting to know my great grandmother since I had not really had a chance to growing up. The only thing that was hard to get used to was that she would say whatever was on her mind even if it was rude.

One day I went out to lunch with my cousin (who is a lawyer at the firm I worked at) and my great grandmother. The place we went to was a seafood place and we all got our food. Lunch seemed to be going well. After we were finished with our food our waiter came over to take away our plates and had asked my great grandmother how her meal had been. To my surprise she told the waiter that she hated her mashed potatoes. He looked shocked that she had said that and quickly asked her if she wanted anything in place of it. She replied "no i don't want anything else! my potatoes were horrible!". I was embarrassed at first of the situation that had just occurred, but then I realized. If you live to the age of 95 I guess you earn the right to be rude!

Junior Year So Far...

Moving in was extremely stressful. I came up to school on Friday and before I even left my house the problems began. My best friend from home just transferred to TC3 and is living on the same road as me so we were going to follow each other to Cortland. She could move in on that day and I would move in on the next day. When she arrived to me house so we could leave she was in tears. On the way to my house her car started acting weird and the check engine light came on. It was hours after that when we finally left.

That was the first of many stressful events that have happened so far. Next I went to classes and decided that I absolutely HATE my major, which was psychology. I had not had a psych class in over a year and when I went to my first psych class I almost got up and walked out. It was so bad. I had to change my schedule around and make sure that if I changed my major this late into my college career that I would be able to graduate on time. None of the Political Science advisers were available to help me do this because two of them are on sabbatical and one was out for the week!

Today is the 4th day of classes and things are just beginning to fall into place. I have finally finished moving in all of my stuff and getting it all set up the way I want it. My schedule seems to be okay but I really wont know until I go to my class this afternoon. I am hoping that everything works out the way that I did it. I don't know much about how to read a CAP report but lets pray that I did it successfully!!
