Summer Break

Over the summer I worked at a law firm in Scranton, Pennsylvania. I live 2 hours away from there so I ended up living with my great grandmother who is 95 years old. It was a really good time and I really enjoyed getting to know my great grandmother since I had not really had a chance to growing up. The only thing that was hard to get used to was that she would say whatever was on her mind even if it was rude.

One day I went out to lunch with my cousin (who is a lawyer at the firm I worked at) and my great grandmother. The place we went to was a seafood place and we all got our food. Lunch seemed to be going well. After we were finished with our food our waiter came over to take away our plates and had asked my great grandmother how her meal had been. To my surprise she told the waiter that she hated her mashed potatoes. He looked shocked that she had said that and quickly asked her if she wanted anything in place of it. She replied "no i don't want anything else! my potatoes were horrible!". I was embarrassed at first of the situation that had just occurred, but then I realized. If you live to the age of 95 I guess you earn the right to be rude!

This blog made me laugh a lot. My great grandma is the same way, she isnt afraid at all to speak her mind and tell it like it is. I agree with you that when someone reaches that age they basicly earn the right to say whatever they want to.

I thought this was a funny blog as well. I can agree with you that as people grow older they tend to become more rude. Also, I think it's pretty cool that you worked at a law firm over the summer. That's something I would LOVE to do. I think that I want to be a lawyer when I get older, but I think that working in a law firm would really give me a feel for that enviornment and let me know if I would truly enjoy doing that as a career.
